Sofas, Furniture, Beds, Tables, Cots etc

We ask for sofas, furniture, beds, tables, cots, and other essentials because the people we support are often moving into completely empty houses. These aren’t just items — they’re the building blocks of safety, comfort, and stability. A bed means restful sleep. A table means shared meals. A cot means a safe place for a baby to lie. Your donated furniture helps turn four walls into a true home — and gives someone the dignity of a fresh start.

Adult and Childrens Clothes

We ask for good quality, clean adult and children’s clothing and shoes because dignity starts with the basics. When someone is starting over, the ability to dress warmly, comfortably, and confidently can make all the difference. Whether it’s for a job interview, a child’s first day at school, or simply stepping out without shame — your donations help people feel human again. Clean, well-cared-for items show love, respect, and hope for a better tomorrow.

Bedding, Towels and Sleeping Bags

We ask for good quality bedding and towels because everyone deserves to feel clean, warm, and cared for — especially when starting over. A soft towel or a cosy duvet might seem small, but to someone rebuilding their life, it’s a sign that they matter. Fresh, comfortable essentials help turn a space into a true home.

Toys and Baby Goods

We ask for toys and baby essentials because children deserve comfort, joy, and a sense of normality — no matter their circumstances. For families starting over, having even a few toys can bring smiles, calm, and moments of play that help children feel safe again. Baby items like cots, prams, and clothes give parents the tools they need to care for their little ones with dignity and love.

Appliances

We ask for air fryers, kettles, toasters, microwaves etc because many of the people we support move into homes with nothing at all. These small appliances make a huge difference — helping families cook safely, eat warm meals, and feel settled. It's about more than convenience — it's about restoring normality and comfort in everyday life.

Flooring

We ask for flooring, rugs and carpets because many council homes are given to families completely bare — with no carpet or flooring at all. In these situations, families often have to prioritise essentials like food, heating, and beds, meaning they can go years without proper flooring. If you're replacing your carpet and it’s still in good condition, it could bring comfort, warmth, and dignity to another family’s home. We often take for granted how much the little things make a house feel like a home — the cosy touches, the personal details, the warmth they bring.

We’re always in need of miscellaneous items that help create that feeling. Unwanted Christmas gifts, bath products, candles, cushions, picture frames, wall art — even the smallest gesture can bring comfort to someone starting over.
