SECOND CHANCES CIC is a community-driven organisation built from lived experience, compassion, and a deep belief that everyone deserves the chance to start again — with dignity.

Our founder, Bella, created SECOND CHANCES after leaving a Domestic Violence Refuge and facing the reality of starting a new life with nothing. There were no support systems to provide the basics — no table to eat at, no comfy blanket to sleep with. Rather than accept that gap, she decided to fill it — not just for herself, but for others walking the same path.

We now collect and distribute donated furniture and household essentials to individuals and families transitioning from Domestic Violence refuges, homelessness, or other life-altering hardships. Every item goes directly to someone in need — no middlemen, no price tags, just real help.

But we’re more than just a furniture bank. We believe in the power of people helping people. That’s why we’re developing a skill swap system — where community members can earn credits by offering acts of kindness, like mowing a lawn, cooking a meal, or sharing a craft. These credits can be used to access essential goods, creating a cycle of empowerment, not charity.

Our dream is bigger still — a safe, welcoming space where people can gather, heal, grow, and be seen. From art therapy to peer support, we’re building a future where no one has to rebuild alone.
